DESIGN TECHNIQUES


For those of you who enjoy weaving, what tools do you like to use when creating your designs?

For me, designing a weaving pattern feels a bit like filling in the squares of a large grid—placing colors one by one to gradually build the picture I have in mind.
To support that process, my tool of choice is Adobe Illustrator.

In this “Design Techniques” section, I introduce how I use Illustrator as a design tool.
Articles [1] through [8] walk you through the steps of creating grid-based designs in Illustrator.
